Vessels
The CSL International fleet of owned and pooled vessels features some of the most modern self-unloaders in the world. The dry bulk handling technology on these vessels is the latest generation, with computer automation and dust suppression systems playing a major role. This allows the vessels to maximize discharge rates — up to 5,000 tons per hour — while minimizing dust and spillage.
There are two types of self-unloaders in the CSLI Pool:
Gravity-fed Conveyor Belt Systems
This type of vessel as the name implies uses gravity to feed conveyor belts through gates located in the bottom of the holds. The cargo is then transported to an elevating system and then onto the boom for the ultimate discharge ashore.
Hybrid Self-unloaders
These vessels use a mechanism, usually grabs to raise the cargo and deposit it into a hopper onboard the vessel. The cargo is then carried by a series of conveyors on deck to the boom for a single point discharge.
Together with Pool partners, Oldendorff Carriers, the Torvald Klaveness Group, Marbulk Shipping Inc., and Algoma Shipping Inc., we offer a range of vessel sizes — from Handy to Panamax — and delivery systems — ranging from articulated to telescopic to straight discharge booms — each addressing customers’ specific needs.
